SCRIPT ANALYSIS
COMPREHENSIVE
Both levels of script
analysis—Comprehensive
and Professional—provide
you with enough feedback
for you to rewrite your
script. You will receive
notes on structure, character,
story, pace, subplots,
theme, dialogue, marketability
and even your prose. If
the writing is awkward,
I will edit a page or
two to suggest a more
efficient and readable
prose style. There will
be several notes on individual
pages.
Both
services are designed
give you a detailed vision
of what the script needs
on the next rewrite. I
will offer solutions for
most problems that I point
out. Both the Comprehensive
Script Analysis and Professional
Script Analysis include
a 15-20 minute phonecall
which allows you to clarify
any topics, brainstorm
solutions or to ask specific
questions.
The
Comprehensive Script analysis
is designed for beginning
and/or intermediate writers,
or writers whose script
is a rough draft or has
a structure which is still
evolving. This service
yields between 7-12* pages
of typed notes plus copious
comments on the script
itself and provides you
with ample feedback for
your rewrite.

PROFESSIONAL
Advanced and professional writers
or amateurs who are ready to take
a step toward becoming a professional
will want to consider the expanded
Professional Script Analysis which
includes everything the Comprehensive
Script Analysis provides and more.
The Professional Script Analysis
ends up being approximately 12-22*
pages of typed notes in addition
to the hand-written comments on
the script. Besides improving your
current script, the detail and specificity
of the Professional Level analysis
will improve your writing forever.
This
Professional level script
analysis grew out of my
relationship with several
repeat clients. I always
aimed to offer possible
solutions to the problems
I point out, and writers
began to ask me to go
into more detail on my
suggestions and to spend
more time on individual
scenes. Whereas at the
Comprehensive level, I
might actually show you
how to rewrite or make
some cuts to a few scenes,
at the Professional level,
I can give several of
your scenes individual
attention. This expanded
analysis also allows me
to spend more time discussing
thematic and subtle structure
issues.

* Ironically,
scripts that have an underlying
structural problem usually
average fewer pages of
notes. Rather than nitpicking
scenes which might not
even appear in the next
draft, I focus on the
global issues of structure.
